Standards for Enhanced and Next Generation 911

Standards development for Next Generation 911 (NG911) plays a vital role in helping 911 industry stakeholders make informed decisions for a cost-effective and efficient transition to a NG911 system that enables seamless interoperation nationwide.

With a number of standards development organizations (SDOs) addressing NG911 issues, understanding and tracking new standards can be a daunting task. Since 2011, the National 911 Program has assisted the community’s important standards development effort by compiling and sharing all of the current standards information in one complete report.
