Closing NG911 Cybersecurity Gaps to Improve Resiliency & Combating 911 Staffing and Retention Challenges
View this webinar to learn how the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is closing gaps by improving cyber resiliency in emergency communication centers (ECCs)/public safety answering points (PSAPs) and how a 911 center in a Maryland county is successfully handling staffing and retention challenges.
Cyber Resilient 911 (CR911)
As 911 ECC/PSAPs become increasingly interconnected in the NG911 environment, cybersecurity must be a priority. But while everyone knows that cybersecurity is important, they aren’t always sure what that means, how to ensure their systems are protected, or what to do if they are attacked. A new effort called Cyber Resilient 911 (CR911), led by CISA and other federal partners, is being established to help ECCs/PSAPs close cybersecurity gaps and improve their cyber resiliency. CISA shares what they have planned for this important effort.
Strategies to Combat Staffing and Retention Challenges in 911
Like most 911 centers, Anne Arundel County (MD) Police Department has had its share of staffing and retention challenges. In this session, you’ll hear more about these challenges and the center’s decision to work with a recruiter focused specifically on 911 emergency communications and helping applicants complete the hiring process.
Speakers include:
Lisa Festa, Cyber Resilient 911 Program Manager, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)
Ann Pingel, Communications Manager, Anne Arundel County Police Department, Maryland
