David Furth and Rachel Wehr from the FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau provide an overview of recent FCC activities impacting 911 across topics such as:

NG911 and Statewide ECC/PSAP Cybersecurity
As the industry transitions to NG911, cybersecurity is often cited as one of the major vulnerabilities. As 911 systems move from stand-alone, independent 911 emergency communication centers (ECCs)/public safety answering points (PSAPs) to an interconnected network, it is imperative that cyber health is top of mind for all entities connecting to the NG911 system. This session features three state 911 administrators as they share their experiences and lessons learned when performing statewide network and ECC/PSAP cybersecurity assessments in the transition to NG911.
